The Historic Mobile Preservation Society invites and encourages everyone to join us on Thursday, November 9, 2023, for our annual Columns & Cocktails fundraiser. Our members and numerous donors are the heart of our organization, making it possible for us to pursue our continued goal of preserving our city's rich history through education, advocacy, and heritage tourism.

    The historic venue selected to house this year's Columns & Cocktails is the historic Richards-DAR House located at 256 N. Joachim St. The Richards-DAR House Museum was built in 1860 for Captain Charles G. Richards and his wife Caroline Elizabeth Steele. It remained within their family until 1946 when the home was sold to the Ideal Cement Company. After operating as a business for many years, the Ideal Cement Company donated it to the City of Mobile. The home was restored and has been lovingly maintained by the four local Mobile DAR chapters since 1973.

Columns & Cocktails 2023 will have an assortment of food and entertainment for everyone. The event will also feature a silent auction and, of course, cocktails! As you can see, we are very excited about this year's venue and are calling on you to make Columns and Cocktails 2023 our most successful benefit to date. We look forward to seeing you all there!
